Amrita’s soul is alive and will be the light to re-ignite the extinguished flame of the encompassing love. If you want to read this as an insight into Indian culture it’s really interesting and thought-provoking. Well, at least after reading this book I don’t blame ‘Allan’ from ‘Maitreyi’ so much Revenge on an old lover Mircea Eliade by writing a far superior book.

He definitely still has that aggravating insecurity and lack of self-awareness that made his book such a frustrating read, but Maitreyi shows that side of him while also showing the rest of him, telling her own story while also telling Mircea’s better.
